| Dreamcast Magazine Vol. 42 |
Summary |
| Readers of
DCM get an early Christmas bonus this year with the special GD-Rom hidden inside. Playable
demos include Daytona USA 2001, Gunspike, Mars
Matrix, and Never 7. Four cinema previews regale viewers by way
of Ecco the Dolphin (JPN), Fighting Vipers 2, and Planet
Harriers. Being fans of the original Space Harrier, the new Sega update to a
classic looks like it will be an event when it is released next year. The pages of the
magazine check out a majority of this week's releases including Phantasy Star online,
Detective Dash, Daytona 2001, Last Blade Final Edition and Never 7. Super Street Fighter
IIX for Matching Service is also featured. It's another D-Direct exclusive but NCS should
be able to offer the game in January 2001. An advert in the last page of the magazine
showcases the new Tokyo Bus Guide game that is due this week. |

A couple of
years ago, it seemed that see-through appliances and doodads were the rage. Phones,
radios, et al were produced with clear shells to afford easy viewing of internal circuit
boards, wiring, and five cent capacitors. The fad faded somewhat and design has returned
to normal colors, metallics, and traditional sheens. Black, matte and others, remains a
favorite.
Last year, Sega released DC Millenium pads in four transparent colors of
blue, green, pink, and smoke. They apparently missed the clear color last year but they
make up for it in 2000 with a crystal clear joypad with white analog and directional pads,
a white start button, and A, B, X, Y buttons in the usual DC colors. The lower right
corner of the box proclaims "2001 Winter | New Century". Indeed. |

| Dreamcast Official 4M Memory Card |
Photo |
| Companies
such as Hong Kong based EMS have sold 4X and even 16X Dreamcast memory cards for months
now. What need is there for an official Sega 4M card? Well, official usually means full
compatibility with all games. At least that's the assumption that should be made by
prospective customers when purchasing a Sega product for a Sega console. Forget that. Here
is a list of games (posted on back of the memory card's box) that will not work with this
4X card: Airforce Delta, Bikkuriman 2000, Carrier, Chess Taipan Gold, the Eidolon
Moonlight Night, Kita He: White Illumination, F1 World Grand Prix, Nanatsu no Hikan,
Rayman 2, Sakura Momoke Cojicoji, and Sekai Fushigi Hakken! Toroia. All other DC titles in
the library should be fine. |

Call it the
flood before Christmas. It'll be an adventure this week with all of the imports expected
and orders to process but the toil will be rewarding in many respects. For one, we'll
fulfill many holiday gifts and wishes; two, it'll cap a banner year for the company. Those
are the main impetuses but there are others that will help to prove some things to
ourselves as we forge ahead and face new prospects and challenges next year. Here then is
the complete schedule for the next couple of days.

Pre-orders for the restock imports expected tomorrow are
welcome by e-mail request. NCS will begin contacting pre-order customers today for all of
Wednesday's new DC and PS imports and all of Thursday's new PS2 imports. Most Neo Geo King
of Fighters 2000 pre-orders have been finalized already. Please note that KOF
2000 may arrive on Thursday but due to the high value of this particular
shipment, U.S. Customs has informed us that an extra day may be necessary to process all
of the cartons. We also have to split this dispatch into multiple separate and independent
shipments due to the insurance limits of only $50,000 per shipment. As of today, we
project arrival of KOF 2000 on Friday based on our experience with high value imports in
the past. If we can help expedite the processing, we will do so, since Thursday would be
an ideal ship date to get everything out and on the way to our customers. We will update
this information by tomorrow morning once the horizon becomes clearer. Please note that Bouncer
for PS2 has unfortunately been shifted back to December 23 (Saturday) in Japan and NCS
will take delivery on December 26. |
