Update |
Two PS2
imports arrived this morning in Bouncer and Choro Q High Grade
Limited Ediiton. New Dreamcast imports include Sega's limited edition Crystal
VMS and Let's Make J-League Soccer Club: Bid Edition. DC Blue
Submarine No. 6 also arrived but this game was originally released about 2 weeks
ago. Finally, GBC gets Cheer Up! Goemon Star Dynamite, starring that
famous chubby ninja.
Due to time constraints this morning, NCS will post updates on all of the new
software titles on Wednesday morning. With the exception of Bouncer, all
pre-orders will ship today. We are able to process 1/4 of our Bouncer pre-orders this
afternoon with the remainder to ship later this week when the rest of our supply arrives.
The Bouncer short shipment was unexpected, vendor assurances last week stipulated no
supply problems. It appears to be selling very well overseas and qualifies for hit status.

There were many doubts brought on by Square's previous PS2 action games
consisting of the laughable Driving Emotion and All Star Pro Wrestling. Dreck and Square
are usually not spoken in the same sentence but there they were. The company redeems
itself with the overhyped Bouncer but with that much attention and touting, it had to be
good. Anything less would have been fodder for ridicule. |

Hori |
| Hori's Dual
Shock Fighting Stick arrived this morning and pre-orders will ship today. Also
restocked were DC Daytona USA 2001, Last Blade Final Edition,
Samba de Amigo 2000, and Asian DC Consoles. Phantasy
Star Online will be restocked on Thursday of this week. |
Many items from the Hori reproduction schedule posted a couple of months ago
have been cancelled for lack of interest. |

Closure |
| It's about
DC this week and at that, only a little bit of it, as Japanese distribution houses gear up
for their Winter Holiday which extends into the first week of January. DC Card
Captor Sakura: Tomoya's Video Battle Limited Edition and the limited edition Sakura
Taisen Dreamcast Console Package are slated for Thursday of this week. NCS does
not anticipate any undersupply of the Sakura Dreamcast. Crazy Bumps is
slated for the PS2 but we'll pass; it's merely the Japanese version of Smuggler's Run. To
add insult, all semblance of smuggling has been waxed from the Japanese edition. |
So, this is how it all ends. With a Card Captor and Sakura Taisen. Fitting,
really. CCS struck twice on the PS this year and made it to US TV. Sakura struck thrice on
the DC in 2000. Looking ahead, Sakura 3 will likely be the biggest DC title for 1Q 2001. |
