The oceans of the world have conquered the lands and all of terra lies
beneath her swells. Enter your party of submariners led by Tetsu
Hayami and Mayumi Kino. Living in a liquid world, the crew of Blue
Submarine No. 6 contends with mutant sea creatures called Zorndykes
which rise from the depths of the oceans to take out humanity.
Dispatch these beasts with well placed torpedo attacks. The main
thrust of the game features lost continents which lie in wait with
your crew diving deep to explore for sunken treasure. Artifacts and
gems may be sold to merchants for cash. Money can then be used to
upgrade Blue No. 6 with a better hull, parts, weapons, and rations.
Once Blue is modified for durability, you'll repeat the vicious cycle
of accumulating wealth to build Blue into a better submarine so that
it can help gather more treasure. |

Let's Make a J-League Soccer Club: Bid Ed. |
Scans |
In the shiny offices of a soccer club manager, one holds the reins to
potential fame and fortune. Choose the right players to join your team
and bless them all with the proper training, exercise, and team
cooperative play. Once all of the requisite ingredients are in place,
you may take on the professionals in the J-League and grab your share
of fortune and glory.
Similar to previous Let's Make games from Sega,
the addictive qualities of each game make for engrossing play as you
build a fledgeling team into contender status. The satisfaction of
winning your first game, even if it's only an exhibition, is your
reward for the time invested in tending to your duties as coach,
guide, and counsel for your players and the team as a whole. Highly
recommended for fans of the series. |

Cheer Up! Goemon Star Dynamite |
Scans |
Konami takes it's whimsical ninja license back to it's roots in this
new Gameboy action-adventure that revels in 2-D and the formula that
made the SFC Goemon games such classics. Starting the game allows the
player to choose either G or the corpulent ninja known as Ebisumaru.
Later on, ninja friends such as Sasuke and Yae join the travels.
The initiation level places you on a platform and you run
from left to right, smacking down cat creatures who toss incendiaries
and blow bullets at you. Jump, duck, smack. Repeat these moves until
you hit the end of the level. Upon successfully surviving the feline
forces, you'll dash into a town where merchants in shops sell
goods and services. You'll want to pick up some healing food to refill
your health meter. Japanese girls also walk around in their kimonos.
Brush Goemon or Ebisumaru against them to steal their gold while they
rush away, blushing for your transgression. The occasional
thief also stalks so kill him before he naps your gold. Blending
elements of action and adventure, Goemon is a well rounded game that
provides a welcome treat on the GBC. |

Pokemon Crystal |
Scans |
Six million customers are served by NTT DoCoMo's I-mode service. Internet
enabled phones are common and browsing the web to download Hello Kitty
icons and distinctive ring jingles for your phone are simple tasks.
The wireless audience is huge and Nintendo gets on the ball with
Pokemon Crystal, which inherently links up with the cellular network
in Japan.
Although the Mobile Adaptor GB is not available yet,
Nintendo is expected to release the device in January 2001. The MAGB
allows mobile users across Japan to swap or battle Pokemon, using the
wireless medium as the connection.
Pokemon Crystal, the game itself, is an update to Pokemon
Gold and SIlver, with no new types of monsters introduced. The thrust
of the storyline remains the same with some plot additions but tried
and true Pokemon Gold and Silver players will find nothing
significantly new herein. A girl trainer joins the ranks for the first
time but otherwise, everything remains the same. |

Quest 7 Figure Collection Bottle Caps |
Scans |
A
hefty box holds an officially licensed collection of miniature Dragon
Quest 7 monsters and characters. A standard size bottlecap serves as
each figure's pedestal and since it's a standard bottlecap, it may be
rotated on top of any Pepsi or Coca Cola soft drink bottle to adorn
your drink. Really.
Twenty four different figures are included in the box
which opens gatefold style. The creatures are held in a plastic
retainer and hidden behind a cellophane window. The figures include a
stone creature with it's arms raised, a howling dragon beast, a
menacing looking hand, and an ogre monster with little wings that
belie it's girth.
The market for collectible bottlecaps such as these may
be found wanting in the United States but we thought it was an
interesting collection when we received the promotional flyers a
couple of months back. Fans of the DQ7 game would probably be the only
customers interested in this product. Still, it's a neat collection
made by Enix and manufactured in China. |
