Sony Playstation Persona

Persona may not look like the greatest of games but it carries a very interesting theme and derives from one of the more popular Japanese anime series in Japan. Persona is based on the Shin Megami Tensei or Digital Demon anime where the storylines are based on demonic activity and happenings. Persona places you in charge of a group of young people who have mystic powers and the ability to call upon demons to attack your enemies or to use magic in the fight sequences. The fighting action is played through a 3-D isometric view that is similar to Ogre Battle on the SFC and the exploration parts of the game are played in two different perspectives. One is a first person perspective where you walk around and interact with the environment and the other is an overhead view of the environment as you discover clues and move through the game. You will encounter a large variety of enemy forces in your quest. There are little munchkins, skeletons, zombies, valkries, etc that you have to disperse before you can go further. Persona goes deep and is very involving and I wish I had more time to check this one out. I was unable to play too much of this game since we have a deadline of 11:00 am for our web entries but I will try to update the NCS page with more details if I am able to play this one a bit more later in the week. Click here for some beautiful poster art from the Persona package.
