Pink Gameboy and Tamagotchi cartridge special package in stock | |
| Nintendo and Bandai team up for a commemorative pink themed package | ||
I usually associate the color pink with things that
are feminine and relegated to that softer side of
humanity. Pink is for girls. Blue is for boys. It goes
way back to the early years when children are taught the
difference between genders and color schemes. Blame it on
society, or blame it on your parents. Just don't blame it
on Nintendo. They promote the color pink this week with a
solid pink Gameboy (why not name it Gamegirl?) that comes
packaged with a pink Tamagotchi cartridge. From a
distance, the pink Gameboy looks like makeup.

Here we have the Pink Pocket Gameboy packaging, front and back. The cartridge is the frontpiece and lies in a transparent container that also houses the Gameboy. It is unclear if Nintendo will only offer the Pink Pockey Gameboy in a Tamagotchi set or if this version is a limited set that will be pulled from the market after a certain amount of time. Sales in Japan have been brisk, with our main Japanese distributor selling out of this set on the first day of availability. Restock in Japan is expected in roughly 4-5 days from Nintendo. | ![]() |

To the left, we have a sticker sheet with decorations that you can stick on your Gameboy to personalize it. Next to it is the Tamagotchi manual. | ![]() |
