It must have been 2 years ago that the first Zero Divide hit the Playstation scene. Since there was a dearth of fighting games on the young console, many people welcomed Zero Divide with open arms. ZD presented the world with a group of robotic charmers who had a variety of attack patterns, juggling moves and whipsaw multiple hit combos in their arsenal. One of the nicer innovations in Zero Divide was the ability to hang onto the edge of a platform if you got ringed out. You could then jump back into the fray and get a second chance to redeem yourself. | |

| Like the original, Zero Divide 2 gives you 10 players to fight with. You'll see some familiar faces and get introduced to some new ones. The movement in the game is faster than ZD1 and attack patterns can be fired off in rapid succession. Since Zero Divide 2 emerges amongst stiff competition, the programmers at Zoom have learned some new tricks and techniques for their robotic fighters. Defensive postures and countermoves are available to the fighters as well as special attacks that may be termed kamikaze-like. Some of the odd figures of the robots also work to their advantage - for example, Tau is a spider-like mech that can do multiple hits with multiple limbs, constantly. | ![]() |

I stuck with the humanoid characters during my bouts. They just seem to move a lot better and appeals to my species-centric demeanor. | ![]() |

The backgrounds in Zero Divide 2 are varied and detailed. You'll find yourself fighting in enclosed arenas as well as wide open polygon spaces. The occasional open platform level for ring-outs is also included for good measure. | ![]() |
